About

Byzarium accepts original fiction in the fantasy, sci-fi and horror genres. For horror, you may send any sort, but we do ask that there actually be a plot to your story, not just a lovingly described scene of death and destruction. For fantasy and sci-fi, we ask that you not send stories which include sex that does not contribute to the plot, extreme violence, and absolutely no scenes of graphic rape or child abuse. We are open to any sort of fantasy -- slipstream, urban, historical, world-building -- but ask that sci-fi center around people more than technology. We like sci-fi and fantasy that feature strong female or gay characters.
