Usually theme-based, Matter encourages free experimentation with words and images, though nothing beats good taste, passion, and integrity. Always looking for quality fiction, non-fiction, poetry, interviews with writers, artists, activists, and interesting people, photography, and all kinds of visual art. People are rarely radical enough, either in their art, or their actions. Does this mean we want to be shocked, burnt, tortured, or jailed by your submissions, by your ideas? Most certainly not. Some of the most radical ideas arise from the most plain places or faces. Reject the hip and the hype. Be honest, be bold.
