What does all of this mean, and how does it relate to an anthology of erotic works? We hope you’re inspired by the idea and will send us your best work that, at heart, celebrates the feminine. Your story does not have to include all three entities, it does not have to be in the point-of-view of one of the entities, nor does it have to be a retelling of some myth. Rather, it should be influenced by these ideas to bring something new to our cultural story.Please allow your imagination to soar. Try not to be limited by the definitions we all accept. Your narrator does not have to be one of the entities, nor do the characters have to have experienced a miracle. Look to both the mundane and the divine, and build your story with compelling language, strong characterization, and brilliant plot.Write about one of the three, two of the three, or all of them at once. Explore what it means to be a young woman with full adulthood ahead, and age far in the distance. Examine what it means to be a woman with youth a memory and age looming on the horizon. Or visit the world of the crone, and determine what it means to be the end of the chain, or explore whether or not these three are frozen in their time or change as the world does. They can be, but do not have to be, sympathetic characters. None of us are sympathetic characters all the time. Give us a clear-eyed look at who your character is. This is a story about life and how the erotic and the feminine at these three stages of life are entertwined. Examine femininity, selfhood, identity, change, and the rhythms of life.
