Open to all / most themes, including: Humor. Specific themes may vary.

The magic words are 'speculative fiction'. To us, this means science fiction, fantasy, and horror. Combinations of these are acceptable, and if done with adequate style and craft, can make for a truly great story. Make it bright red, darkly mysterious, or outrageously funny, but by all means make it fresh. Making it political? Don't make it PC. Make it adult if the story needs to be, but don't make it gratuitous. Warning: bodice ripper stories may be returned to the submitter along with an invoice for editorial pain and suffering. Now if it's an alien bodice, being ripped in a fresh and excitingly new way, well, that may be another story ... Making it scary? Hint: gore NOT EQUAL TO scary. Gore has its place. It needs to belong in the story to be there. Consider the phrase 'indigenous human technology' as a nonsense reference point: what makes for a new species might well make for wonderful reading.
TEMPORARILY CLOSED: Temporarily closed to submissions. On indefinite hiatus.

Response Times
Show   Note: These statistics are compiled from response reports sent to us anonymously and through our submissions tracker for registered users. They are not provided by the publication's editors/staff or by Duotrope's staff.
Accuracy We have received 5 reports within the past 12 months, not including 2 pending responses (with an avg. wait of 326 days). The more responses reported, the more accurate the info. Rejections are often underreported, which skews the statistics in favor of acceptances. Most markets have a lower acceptance rate than indicated here.
Days Reported 174 | 251.8* | 457 (min | avg | max) *This data has been normalized to reduce the effect of reported long waits before withdrawals or assumed rejections.

Before Submitting
We cannot guarantee that the information on this page is correct. It is not unusual for publications to evolve or close overnight. We do our best to keep up, but it isn't always possible. Just remember ...

  • Always read the full guidelines provided by the publisher.
  • Try to read at least one previous publication to get a better idea of what the editor would like to see.
  • Unless the publisher's guidelines state otherwise, always use industry standard manuscript formatting.
  • For novel/collection publishers, it is standard to submit a cover letter, synopsis, and sample instead of the full manuscript.  Do this unless otherwise instructed.
  • Include a SASE with all mailed submissions, queries, and requests for guidelines.
  • Be professional, patient and persistent.
