About

Wascana Review, the University of Regina's literary journal, has been publishing poetry, short fiction, and literary criticism by writers from around the world since 1966. The journal, like the University of Regina, grew out of the sixties, and perhaps some of the playful iconoclasm of that period-along with the sense of possibility, even during dark times-still informs our editorial choices. We're always looking for well-crafted poetry and short fiction-work with attitude and craft, edge and elegance, work that makes the reader part of the creative process. We don't publish one-read poems or stories. We do publish both established and emerging writers. What all our writers have in common is their attention to craft and their ability to surprise.
