About

The Binnacle is UMM's Literary & Arts Journal. For over fifty years we have published the works of literature and art of our students as well as writers and artists from around the world. All production of the journal is completed on the UMM campus by UMM students, staff, and friends. In collaboration with UMM's new Book Arts program, we aim to produce the best literary journal in the country. The work we have published in recent years is clear evidence that we are succeeding in our aim. The Binnacle accepts submissions from the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maine at Machias and from writers and artists anywhere in the world. Please submit original poetry, short fiction, short short fiction, creative non-fiction, as well as photography and other works of visual art, both color and black and white.
